Your first visit

The first visit has a couple of steps that can throw a newcomer. Here is the whole thing so nothing looks wrong.

The anti-flood check

Before the login, the market often shows a check to filter out bots. Solve it once. If it keeps looping, your circuit or cookies are the problem, not your answer. Get a new identity and try again. There is more on the captcha page.

The address on the screen

The login page shows the address it is running on. Before you type your password, read it and match it to your browser bar. That is your check against a fake, and it takes a second.

Signing in

Enter your name and password. If you turned on PGP login, the market gives you a coded challenge, you decrypt it on your side and paste the answer back. If any step asks for your recovery words, stop. That is never part of a normal login.
